What Rubbish Are You Wearing?

  Is That Rubbish You're Wearing?

Some of the clothes you wear in your everyday life maybe made out of the plastic and rubbish that you carelessly throw away, your plastic is shipped all around the world where it is made into Polyester a key material in making types of clothes. Here is how your rubbish can be turned into something you might be wearing.

First the plastic bottles are collected and sorted out from the rest of the rubbish. The plastic bottles are then taken to a factory where the leftover liquid from the bottle is drained. Next the emptied bottles are shredded and packed, they are then shipped to different factories all around the world.

Once the plastic has arrived to their separate locations it is sorted out and the lids are put into a bath and are taken away, while this is happening the shredded plastic bottles are put into another bath of corrosive liquid where the labels are removed. The shredded plastic is then put into an oven where they are left to dry, while drying they add coloured plastic to give the shredded plastic a certain colour.

When fully dried the plastic is then removed and put into a rotating screw where it is heated to approximately two hundred and seventy degrees celsius. This shaped the plastic to turn it into a rope where it is then cut up into long thread-like pieces, next the plastic is taken out and combined , while this is happening the plastic is being rapidly heated up and cooled down, this connects the fibers in the plastic together. Once this has happened the plastic is ready for the next set of steps.

The long pieces of thread are then shredded up again, the substance that you get from the shredded thread is the raw substance needed to make polyester. Next the thread is then sent to be carded, a process where metal brushes brush the ripped up thread to make it stronger. The plastic is then turned into long pieces of thread where they are then put into a loom, where it is made into new sheets of polyester. When completed, the polyester is ready for it's final set of steps.

The polyester is then sent to a machine where it makes tiny loops in the fabric, then a steel brush tears the tiny loops up. The shredded loops help give the polyester a soft and comfortable feel. The fabric is then cut into pieces of clothing where it is sent to workers who sew the fabric together to make certain pieces of clothes.

Finally the polyester clothing is sent to countries all around the world, where it is sold in stores and used in everyday life. That is how your  rubbish that you carelessly throw away is turned into something that you use in your everyday life.

Descriptive paragraphs

Tour De France
Blistering hot I weave through my competitors as my feet pedal away. Spectators chant the names of who they want to win. As I glide down the narrow street a member of the crowd snaps his camera and the flash hits my eyes. Blinded, I carry on, Before I know it two people have already past me, I take a deep breath and I move my feet as fast as I could, soon I could just about touch the man in second place. Another burst of speed as more and more adrenaline pumps into my veins I pass the person in second. With one down and one to go I start to see the finish line.

Passing the man in second I carry on with the finish line just two hundred meters away. The crowd roars away, neck and neck we dart for the finish line I start to pick up speed and I am now pedaling as fast as I ever have. Before I know it I start to break free and get ahead of him with the finish line just inches away I pass it coming first, soon a crowd of people gather around me I gasp for air as cameras and microphones are shoved into my face. I scamper to the changing rooms for some relaxation as the crowd begins to grow, once I had tidied myself up I headed outside onto the podium the host had the trophy in his hand. He began to speak and subsequently he handed me the trophy, I held it up high and thanked all my fans then the crowd mobbed around me.

This week we have been learning about descriptive paragraphs these two paragraphs are inspired by this

The 1 Million Year Old Weasel
I wake up go to the kitchen, it does take me a while of course, but once I get there I eat breakfast and get ready to head out, everyday I dream of being able to do the things I love but I can’t because I am too old I have lived through wars and natural disasters you name it I have seen it with my own eyes. I want to find a cure for my medical condition called W.A.D (Weasel age deformity). Every day I age 20 years It's like time travelling but everything is still the same, and I hate it. They say that to find the cure for my disease I must find a magic Genie that lives in the Himalayas and that is where i'm heading.

So yesterday I bought a nonstop plane ticket to the Himalayas and and now I am in a hotel there. Tomorrow I am heading out to find the great ghastly Genie named Houdini . Night pases along with another 20 years and I have headed up to the mountain it is as cold as ice but this is where they say he is  I go inside the cave and there he is in all his glory he looks very wise and has obviously lived way longer than weasel’s have ever existed I ask him for the cure and he just gives it to me without a word it was awesome. The next day I still haven't drank the slimy concoction of what looks to be a fisheye some slimy pink substance and just a sprinkle of Himalayan pink salt but I have taken the flight home and I am ready to drink it so I take of the cork on the top of the vile and prepare for whatever is going to happen.

I start to drink it and once it  hits my tongue I can feel the horrible taste of it, It is like skunk spray that has been left out in the sun for two weeks. But I just hold my nose and hope that the vial is empty quick, Once I had drank all of it  I started to feel a tingly feeling then nothing I was so angry that Genie made me travel to the Himalayas for nothing. I was so angry that I started to feel tired and I feel asleep. The next morning I open my eyes to see a nice sunny day feeling good about myself I head downstairs into the kitchen when I suddenly realised I hadn't aged 20 years I was jumping up and down like the most wacky wondrous weasel there was.

I was so happy I took back all the things I had said to the Genie, I was able to do the things I wanted and loved I picked up the phone and called my boss at work telling him that i'm going into early retirement to do the things I love. He wasn't to pleased with me I was one of the best workers at the convenience store but it was as boring as sitting in a room with nothing in it I hated that job. I head over to my bedside cabinet and open the drawer I then get out a piece of paper saying the two words “bucket list” on it and I read everything that is on there and Roller coaster, eating a deep fried chocolate bar,  everything on that list I was going to do.So now I have my life planned out on a simple piece of paper, I am doing the things I have dreamed of doing for years and I am going to do die a very happy weasel.

Persuasive Text

Why We Should be able to listen to music during class time.
Does music help people learn or distract them? Does it depend on the music? Or the person.

I honestly and strongly believe that our class should be able to complete work whilst listening to music,I am sure many of my other classmates agree.

To start things of why are we not able to listen to music?  I get the fact that some people will mess around with the music but what about the others, I think that more than half the class are capable of completing their work with music. I have found out that listening to music can help people learn, by listening to music you are able to learn and memorise information from class better and easier than you are without it and I think that it will most likely benefit us and our capability to learn in and out of the classroom.

Moreover I do think that there are some types of students who are not capable or will muck around with the music that they are listening to. But then there are also many others who are eager and able to be trusted with the privilege of listening to music. I think that those are the type of students who will show integrity and responsibility while listening to music during class time and those are the people who should have the privilege of music.

So therefore I strongly believe that the class should be able to listen to music while we complete our work and I think that it will benefit us in many ways.
